An Act to provide for better protection of the interests of consumers and for that purpose to make provision for the establishment of consumer councils and other authorities for the settlement of consumers' disputes and for matters connected therewith.

BE it enacted by Parliament in the Thirty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:

Complaint Lodging

To give basic, fast and reasonable redressal of consumer disputes, the CPA conceives a 3-level quasi-judicial machinery at the National, State and District levels.

National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission, known as National Commission, deals with complaints involving costs and remuneration higher than Rs. One Crore.

State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission, known as State Commission, manages grumblings including expenses and remuneration higher than Rs. Twenty Lakh and not as much as Rs. One Crore.

District Consumer Dispute Redressal Forum, known as District Forum, manages protests including expenses and pay not as much as Rs. Twenty Lakh.

Purchasers can record various sorts of objections relying upon their particular complaint by visiting the Consumer Court at the region, state or national level alongside the reports required for documenting the grumbling.

COMPLAINT UNDER SECTION 12 OF THE CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT

Most Respectfully Submitted as Under:

1. That the complainant is a consumer within the definition of the Consumer Protection Act and is constrained to approach this Forum against the gross acts of the opposite party wherein he has committed serious deficiency of services and unfair trade practices. This consumer court complaint format is being filed against him for deficiency of his services.

2. That the complainant has purchased the following goods and services from the opposite party which has caused loss of time, value of money, harassment, mental tension, agony and pain to the complainant.

3. That the brief facts leading to the filing of the present complaint are as under: (Narrate the brief facts of the matter)

4. That the complainant has issued the required notice to the opposite party which was received by him but he did not comply with the same hence this complaint.

    A dissatisfied consumer can file a complaint directly with the national commission or appeal against decisions of the state commission within a month from the date of the order. The court fee is Rs 5,000 and the demand draft should be in the name of The Registrar, National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.
